THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
Speedy wide receiver Chris Fields today became the seventh commitment to the Ohio State football recruiting class of 2009.

Fields, 6 feet 1, 181 pounds, from Painesville (Harvey), pledged to the Buckeyes as soon as he received his scholarship offer. He recently was timed at 4.39 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the National High School All-Star Combine workouts at the Cleveland Browns facility in Berea.

Bill Kurelic of Bucknuts.com has Fields rated as the No.9 overall prospect in the state headed into the 2008 season. Fields, the first receiver in the next OSU class, accounted for more than 1,800 all-purpose yards last season.
